We are a network of game designers, community managers, educators, researchers, developers, game players, and students who are interested in creating a caring, inclusive, cozy gaming community that is accessible and equitable to all.
Our Goals
- Create an inclusive and accessible community for people interested in all aspects of games and gaming, including (but not limited to) playing games, game design/development, game community management, teaching games, and researching games.
- Share the latest research, best practices, design, anti-bias, & pedagogical techniques relating to inclusion & games.
- Discuss and deliberate the trends, open questions, research findings, frameworks, and effective inclusive games and gaming communities.
- Curate, showcase, celebrate, publicize, and award innovative and effective inclusive games, gaming communities, gaming advocates/advocacy organizations, open-source designs, controllers and equipment, and events, selected by this organization.
- Connect advocates, developers, academics, designers, entrepreneurs, educators, anti-bias experts meaningfully.
- Provide unique networking opportunities, through virtual options like events and interactions through Discord and Zoom; games showcase/arcade; birds of a feather virtual “lunch” groups; speed networking/networking events; and prototyping parties/game jams.
- Host speakers and workshop leaders throughout the year, who connect research, industry, advocacy, and education.
- Partner with key organizations and people, such as thought leaders, game companies, NGOs, advocacy groups, and researchers.
- Establish a conference that takes place in a lower-cost, yet accessible location(s) with an in-person and virtual option.
- Publish works on the latest findings and design practices, such as books, articles, whitepapers, and blogs.
- Work with game studios, non-profit organizations, academic programs, etc to help accomplish our goals
